Opis
Once home to the Pasha of the area in the times of the Turkish rule, this old stone mansion stands proud at the top of the village of Nikithiano and boasts lovely countryside views. The property is about 150m2 plus a 10m2 garden. One has to walk along a picturesque, cobbled walkway to reach the property. The immediate area has several beautifully renovated homes that add to the location’s charm and all the houses look out towards the valley, distant villages, and surrounding mountains. There is a small, enclosed garden or courtyard, with a traditional stone oven and a stable, upon entering the old wooden gate. The main door opens into a large living area with large windows and high ceilings as well as an impressive stone arch. Apparently, on the wall’s stones, under the plaster, the name of the Pasha of the area at the time, is written in Cyrillic/Arabic script. The traditional traits of the living area could easily be kept. The stone walls are in a relatively good condition and the wooden olive branch ceiling could easily be painted and be left as it is. It is said the olive tree wood can harden so much over the years, that its density resembles one of steel. On the right side of this area are two doors. The door on the right leads to a kitchen which has a fireplace. The other door leads to the rest of the property. This area probably accommodated the bedrooms and needs complete renovation. Most of the walls and ceilings are intact but need reinforcement. There is a small room on the side of the property that has collapsed into the garden. This is part of the plans and would need to be re-built. The roof of the building could be used as a large terrace and will have lovely uninterrupted views. It is perfect for entertaining or just soaking up the sun on warm days. Opposite the property, on the other side of the cobbled pathway, is a room with a low ceiling, that is part of the property, and can be used for storage.
